Has Delta Airlines really rescinded their policy of adding fees for scuba equipment?

I have emailed both Delta and US Air and gotten replies back stating what their policies are. I find printing these off and putting them with my dive gear helps when it is TSA check time.
And please dont get me started on those guys.
 
Doesn't US air's say scuba gear is extra? I have never been asked what's in the luggage so it hasn't been a problem yet.
