I have exactly the same problem that you have, so all the return comments you are getting are helping me to! It is a little frustrating to learn that your DM comes up after you with 1,600 psi while you only have 500! The main message I am getting here is that practice makes perfect.

With a little effort and lots of practice, your air consumption will improve. I agree with the suggestion that you use a larger tank (e.g. a 100 c.f.) and would just add that you should try to get a steel tank, if possible, as it is roughly the same size as an aluminum 80 and will allow you to use less weight.
