The one thing with the light...you need to be really close like inches for it to make a difference. If your 6 ft away from what your shooting you won't have much color. I have the TG4 with a Sola 1200 and had pretty good results in Cayman Brac over the winter. The water is very clear down there with not hardly any particulate in it that would create noise within the picture. One thing you might want to consider is the purchase Lightroom for post processing. I bought it and it took my average pictures to really good with putting the colors back into them. Shot also in RAW. To help me understand the camera I sat in my house with the lights dimmed down messing with the features on the camera to help to try to get the most light back into the camera. That really helped me a lot to learn the features of it.

Taking the tg 5 out for a test run today with no housing or strobe. Locking mechanismon housing was received defective and sending back.
Will post photos this evening[fl keys]

Pictures from today great viz upwards of 80 feet, strong current which made it hard to stay still and focus
Tg5 no housing or strobe

Awesome shots!

As for lightroom, I had purchased it couple of months ago to try fix up some of my gopro pics, but being that they aren't in RAW there isn't much that could be done. But I also have a lot to learn there as well.

My wife told me to use a free program called snapseed. Simple and quick

Great photos , thanks for sharing, its such a simple camera to use and the colours are so strong straight from the camera. I use Dive+ app which give colours a nice boost and takes out excessive blue.

Thnx dive plus app will check it out

So I figured I would throw this out there as a little update after the trip.

Here are a bunch of shots (picked out from probably close to 200-300 taken) during the trip to Belize....in no particular order. Nothing to write to National Geographic about, but better than anything I've been able to get with a GoPro. So much more to learn....and I definitely want a strobe now. One thing I do wish this camera had was full manual control (eg. Shutter Speed), but for now the capabilities of the camera are ahead of my skills so I'm not too concerned with that "limitation."

Take an underwater photo course with an instructor that knows your camera inside out, it'll be the best money you have ever spent ! If you come by the Cancun area soon, let me know, I'll show you how powerful and incredible that little camera of yours truly is !
