I dive exclusively in saltwater multiple days a week and for some field missions am unable to thoroughly rinse gear for more than a week at a time. Never had issues with stainless bolt snaps.
Now I want to try the bar soap and see if there is any improvement. I will let you know.
You want the super hard brittle junk bars from cheapy chains. If it is good soap that doesn't dry your skin out, that isn't what you are looking for. The really crappy stuff turns to a really fine powder when you drag it over the gate. The fancy soft stuff is great for drysuit zippers and bolts on your doubles wingnuts.
I made a video to show you what I am talking about.

Do you know why FGS is so much more expensive than WD40? Well it is over here in Oz? Is it just because it says so or is it different in someway? Thank you.
They aren't at all the same thing. WD40 is petrol based, not silicone.

??
WD-40 is NOT a food-grade silicone.

Ok, I thought FGS was better for environment, I thought WD40 was an oil.

I did some checking but I'm a bit confused.

Ah so WD40 is a brand and they make a FGS spray?
