Mask strap under/over hood

I searched for this thread specifically for that reason. I’ve been finding that my mask leaks more when the strap is over the hood. Even if I make sure all of the hood is pulled out from underneath the mask.

It’s not hard to pull the hood back enough to get the mask off if needed. But yes, it does expose your head cold water for a bit.

As far as donning, you just put the hood on first, pull it down to your neck, put on the mask and then pull the hood back up over the head. That way the edges of the mask aren’t being pulled away from your face by the strap because of the thickness of the hood.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if there were suggestions or problems with this method that I wasn’t considering.

Those straps are adjustable. If the edges are being pulled it is too tight.
