Hi,

I can't seem to find any thread already started on this so I will ask what may be a stupid question which has potentially already been answered.

I am looking to purchase myself a dedicated O2 regulator for accelerated deco, I was thinking of something simple and with the least failure points. It doesn't have to be balanced, or have adjustable air flow etc. but I would like to be able to have the hose routed into the left side of the second stage.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also if this thread is in the wrong section or would be better off somewhere else please feel free to move it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Jay

The Apeks XTX second stages are reversible as are the Dive Rite XT2 second stages. The new @Dive Right In Scuba second stages are reversible but I’m not sure if they are suitable for a deco regulator.

For Simple :

Scubapro MK2 plus / R195 Nitrox

Aqualung Calypso 2017 Nitrox

Both have RH / LH interchangeable 2nd stages

For Balanced

Any of the Apeks XTX in Nitrox

Illusion Regulator Set

Description here says it is.

"It also comes ready for use with higher oxygen content applications (100% Oxygen to 2400psi, 80% Oxygen to 3400 psi when new)."

the new calypso is the same 2nd stage as the titan, which is not reversible afaik

Aqualung Calypso 2017 is "Convertible LH or RH" according to the Specs on the UK product page.
This was not the case for earlier versions of the Classic Calypso. QC version was reversible though.

The US site doesn't have it listed as a feature for the calypso. Not sure why they wouldn't list it though.

As @J Pasquette is based in the UK, I will assume that you'd want a 300 bar DIN regulator and to be easily serviceable in the UK.

For 300 bar DIN, my preferences are either Scubapro MK2 plus / R195 or Apeks XTX.

For some perverse reason the Aqualung Calypso DIN is only 200 bar, which wouldn't work if you ever tried to attach it to a HP Steel tank.

In UK I wouldn't go with DRIS and other boutique US regulator brands as parts availability and servicing when you need it are limited in UK.
