Hello everyone,

My name is India and I am a final year Product Design student at Bournemouth University. For my final year project I'm looking to design a communications aid for recreational scuba divers. If you have a few moments could you please complete this survey asking a few general questions relating to scuba diving, that will help me make some informed design choices and hopefully ultimately lead to a better product.

Thank you.

I went and took the survey. I hope it helps you with your project. I would be interested to see what you come up with.

I took it. Some good questions.

Interesting survey, I think we all be interested in finding out what sort of product you come up with as part of your course. Good luck.

your survey left out hand signals for inquiring about remaining gas and the response. the only signal i use more than those is OK

Done, it would be nice to see the product you are analyzing when it's done.

India,

FYI
The UW hand signals was developed by the late Bob Reutherford and the now defunct Sea Sabres dive club in 1954..You can read my article "Sea Sabres UW signaling system " (I recall that was the title?- I have published many articles and have had 5 dedicated columns over the years) check it out www.portaagequarry "legends of diving ."

About 40 or more years ago the late Bonnie June Davis did a masters at UCLA on underwater communication or underwater audiology -- (Too many years have passed..).

It would be well for you to review these pioneering efforts ..

(While you are in the legends you can read about the events and people who were instrumental in creating recreational diving -- long before certifications )

good luck,'

SDM
