Of course if someone entered a competition in such a way without reading all the conditions, they'd have no idea WHAT they agreed to!

Sometimes I agree to a lot of things I haven't realized that I agreed to.

What is so hard about hitting the delete button anyway? Geeze. I got one today from some "company" telling me that someone in Bulgaria tried to use my VISA card and I'd better "follow the link" to authenticate my actual existance. Did I call Interpol?

When I get those I usually just forward them to the CC company or Ebay or whoever it is. It gives their anti-fraud people work to do and who knows...it might actually stop some of it as well.

Come to think of it I didn't receive one of those for quite a while now....hmmmm....maybe it worked!

I didn't know what particular card (if any) they were talking about, and I wasn't going to open it up to find out. But I guess that's a good idea to forward those things.

Scubautah. I would ask you to remain civil. I have simply tried to address your concerns and let you know what happened. As I have already stated the default selection in any future competition will be changed. It is completely erroneous to suggest that the interests of SB advertisers are placed over the privacy of our members. I don't know why anyone should be so annoyed to receive a genuine offer from a scuba manufacturer - you come here for diving right? If you don't want the offer just ignore it. It's not like you've been receiving them everyday or even every week, right?

The actions of scubaboard do not support your words. If the privacy of the members was a priority over the commercial advertising dollars, there would have never been a box to check if you did not want advertising. In fact, it would have always been the other way around.
