What would be the point? I ask because while a Peregrine AI might cost less, and be more attractive to the new purchaser, you already have the Teric and Perdix AI. If you traded your Perdix AI for a Peregrine AI, hypothetically, what would you gain? Does the 'far more than you really need' create problems? Messier interface or something?
Agree - the only thing you’d get is a slightly smaller form factor and a rechargeable battery. The screen size and Rec display is the same - but you’d give up a lot of extra capability that might be useful if your diving interests evolve? Seems it would be a senseless swap!

Switching gasses is 3 lines of code. Costs nothing.

Peregrine is cheaper because no compass, no AI, cheaper rec housing, most likely cheaper screen and glass. Selling a Perdix and buying new, would barely net you enough to buy 100 pancakes.

Have you tried diving the Perdix in OC tec mode?

What I would like to see more than a Teric 2 would be a Peregrine AI.
(Right now, I have a Teric & a PERDIX AI, but they are both far more than what I really need as a recreational diver and I would sell my PERDIX AI in a proverbial heartbeat and replace it with a Peregrine AI if it was available.)
I just went with two Teric’s

I probably would have done that to except that I bought the PERDIX AI first. (I got a really good deal on it.) Having used both of them, I do prefer the Teric.

Yes I have, and I have no complaints. It is an amazing computer, and I always knew that it was. I was recently on a trip to Cayman Brac and dove with the PERDIX AI on one wrist and the Teric on the other. Very happy with both. To my 63 year old eyes, the Teric was a little easier to read, even with a slightly smaller display.

Your sarcasm meter needs to be recalibrated. I was jumping off YOU saying they were too much for you. We get this mindset all the time here from recreational divers. It gets tiresome.

Fine, they can go use a crappy computer if they want to. The scuba self-flagellation of “I’m not worthy of Shearwater” is funny as ****.

🤦‍♀️
I’ll take that mindset anytime vs the condescending one we frequently get from certain tech divers here…

There was nothing wrong with what he said - if he did not already have a Perdix AI, a Peregrine AI would be perfect and cost less.

A Peregrine AI would actually make a lot of sense as it would be a great choice for folks who have zero interest in tech diving but want a lower cost SW with AI! I suspect we’ll see one soon!

Had a perdix, saw the Teric while they were beta testing at Truk so bought one soon after I sold the perdix and bought a second teric.

I’m happy with our Teric’s…..haven’t been hit by the battery bug yet, but our are just over a year old.
