When your non-diving spouse of 7 years (and 2 years of dating) gets her open water because she is tired of hearing about what you saw while she was topside.

She will be making her first dives (without an instructor) in Tobago between June 26th and July 2nd 2009. (oh is that 17 days from now)

Hey now... If your on a dive team do you get a waver for this one ?

I'd say it depends because if you're on a dive team you should probably have ALL your gear, just in case
 
You have kids to groom them as future dive buddies. You justify new gear purchases thinking the old computer would be good for your kid when he's ready to dive.

That's definitely true for an Uwatec bottom timer- battery withstanding of course. No need to worry about updated algorithms.
