    MK10 yoke to DIN

mk10 are pretty old (age of the material), and i'd quote the risks of damages should the reg be connected to 300bar as not insignificant. the issue is you wont do it, but murphy's law says someone else will... eric

    Repair/service tools

you're right, it is $50... i really find the value I got out of the book much higher than its price... i am now servicing my own regs for the past 5yrs, and - i really saved some $ - and it only takes me a couple of hours to service a complete rig, instead of waiting x number of weeks at some...

    Analox -- Be warned!!

hi got an issue with my analyzer that gave funky readings. I live in jamaica, so not easy to ship back & forth. I called them, based on the serial number (no need for the invoice that I had lost anyway...), they assessed the unit was 15 months old, and proposed a replacement of the sensor for...

    Capacity Question from the UK

as someone said, 80cf refers to the gas contained in the cylinder at the working pressure, once brought to a pressure of 1bar. 1cf = 28.31685 liters so 80cf=2265 liters, at 200 bars usually in europe, you'd have the same capacity with a tank of 11.325 liters filled at 200bars. tanks are...

    Greasing Yoke thread?????

your reg will not be exposed to 100% o2, not the yoke anyway. if you are to dive high nitrox or use the reg on 100% o2 deco, then other procdedures apply. No risk in putting silicone grease on the yoke threads in any case - apart from trapping dust/sand in case of excess. eric

    Greasing Yoke thread?????

That was too tempting... What you can do: - unscrew the yoke, and soak it in vinegar for 5-10 minutes - try to avoid putting the plastic in it, not needed. Can use an old toothbrush - clean the threads on the clamp the same way, but there, be extremely careful not to splash the air intake...

    Cleaning Regs

put a hose in the mouthpiece, and rinse, this will have the same effect. no manufacturer recommends to dismantle the 2nd stage to rinse !!! I would suggest to your friend to actually throw away his reg after each use, as it's been infected with awful salt water. I can give him the location of...

    Question to European divers

no specific markings required when breathing air in France - regular tank markings (working pressure, hydro, etc...), there are no VIP stickers (tanks must be hydroed every year unless owned by a FFESSM club/member, in which case VIP is logged at club level, not on the tank itself). e

o2 cleaning reg for hygienic purposes?

main difference between o2 and non-o2 cleaning is that the cleaning agent is o2 compatible in case there are some traces left, the o-rings are specific (viton/epdm), and the grease must be o2 compatible (though scubapro for instance requires the o2 compatible grease to be used, o2 clean or not)...

    Nitrox Tank Cleaning

Excellent question - per PSI 'inspecting cylinders' book, p51, "Luxfer Gas Cylinders announced in Feb 2000 that eddy current examination is not recommended on its propietary 6061 alloy cylinders" So why the VIP+ ??? Also, did the tank come with a green cap... these ones mean that the tank...
