    Gekko vs Archimedes II

I think the Archimedes is the way to go. You can always bungee it yourself or get the console version. It offers so much for the money. Leisurepro had the best price. I liked mine so much I bought one for my wife.

    Zeagle Stiletto

If you want more, check out the Zeagle Brigade from Scubatoys. Ranger harness with Escape bladder. Honestly the Stiletto should be fine. If you can hold out, Zeagle may have a sale again this year where you can get the Ranger for the price of a Stiletto. I love my Ranger, but at times I wish...

    Pinnacle Zippers

They have been changing to better zippers very recently on suits with known problems. The Kodiak is using a new zipper than the originals.

    I want to join....

As a paramedic I say the Freemasons. THey have their own nursing home here in Delaware and we got their a handful of times a year compared to multiple times a day. The nurses are intelligent and know how to care for the people. Makes me want to join just in case I need a nursing home I'd end...

Which first stage: DSV or 50D

Go which ever is cheaper since they are both good. My wife and I both have DSV's. Love them and would buy them again even if it didn't come with a free safe second.

    Buying computer! Advice please

My LDS owner uses it, he likes the Cressi products. I use the Archimedes II and would recommend that just due to price and bigger display. If you want a a comp that doubles as a watch then get the Edy. The Edy II may be a little better in guesstimating deco time. It's algorithm is based on 12...

    Walk, run or bike?

I wish I could remember where I read the info for rate monitors. It's been a few years since I've been into all of that. They are great for someone who is training to be competitive. To use them for fat loss specifically is almost pointless. Even if theres a fat burning zone in your heart...

    Walk, run or bike?

Go with what ever you are most likely to stick with. The whole fat burning zone is a plot sell heart rate monitors. The reason for this, is if you exercise at a certain rate, sure a higher percentage of the calories burned can be fat. However if you work out at a higher intensity, you'll...

    Computer software for dive comp?

From what I understand there is a MAC program that allows you to run windows programs. That would allow you to use a PC logbook software on our MAC.

What should I get for my first BC?

This is really a matter of personal preference. Everyone here will have an opinion on what to get and it'll be either what they use or what they sell. Fit of course is the most important thing so get one that fits you well. I would also get one that is from your local dive shop so that it...

Why do i get sick everytime I ascend?

Go to your doctor and get a referal for an ear, nose, and throat specialist.

Why do i get sick everytime I ascend?

My first guess would be inner ear. The pressure change when ascending, can really mess with you and could make you nauseous and vomit, and can get really bad. I've never had any problems before either, but on our last trip, I had a lot of balance issues immediately after diving that got better...

Question from newbie... Getting Certified in Winter where it's COLD!

If your asthma is controlled well, you shouldn't have much trouble. Really dry air can be a trigger for some people, so make sure you take your rescue inhaler with you on all dives and definitely speak to your doctor about wanting to dive. I dont know what you take if anything for your asthma...

    Scuba Diving Magazines

I like the magazine. It has some great site reviews. Equipment reviews are good too, but can be a little biased. I think Alert Diver is just a huge advertisement. I like Dive Training Mag too.
