Capt. MIke:
Hi All, You know, I am really looking forward to diving with you bubble bums. I have a new Kenwood (Killer CD ) player and deck speakers so, bring any jams you want and they will hear us at the Handcock. (no rap please, haha) and If anyone need lodging, we have some great rates at the Trump hotel about 1 mile from the marina. There are 3 casino boats within a mile of us, the Harrah's is next door. They compete for the weekend crowd with life music, giant sports bars and "all you can eat" buffets. Log onto my web site www.npursuitcharters.com for directions and a quick link to the Trump Hotel site. It's on the "plan a trip page". Thanks for the great welcome aboard (diverjed and TCooperWFI). I hope to be able to dive with you guys this summer. Capt. Mike

Hey Mike, For the trip this weekend, Is the boat doubles friendly, or singles only? If singles - will 8" tanks pose a problem w/ your racks.

What wrecks/depths do you think we'll be taking in...? I'd like to plan accordingly.

Whats the airfill situation? I'll need fills between the am & pm trip and if possible arrange for a fill that night as I'm diving up in Milwaukee sunday. Dunno any shops in that neck of town except Goose's...

Pls advise. Thanks.

While I can't speak for Cap Mike, I can say that I dove with him Saturday and my buddy was diving doubles. Most of the wrecks that we'll do are shallow enough to get both dives from a set of doubles.

You must have had fun, since you're going again this weekend!

See ya there.

It's been raining so much it was just great to get out on the lake on a sunny calm day. We did the Louisville & David Dows. Vis was quite good. I hope it holds for this coming weekend.

Arrrrggggghhhhhh. Time to sacrifice a bungied wing, poodle jacket & AL80 to the diving gods.... I get a jam packed weekend Thursday evening, all day Saturday & Sunday afternoon scheduled for Lake Michigan and this is what we get for the Open Water forecast!

I think we may need to think about contingency plans or call it off folks. Kankakee (Haigh Quarry) looks clear Saturday, scattered T-storms on Sunday - ditto for S.Beloit (PearlLake/DUI Days) and Portage in Ohio. Ottawa, OH (Gilboa) looks like T-storms all weekend.

I'll email Capt. Mike and see what his cancellation policy is. I'd really hate to see this go down the tubes...

The NOAA bouy in southern Lake Michigan has a bunch of up to the minute current information, links to other observation sites in the area and a number of forecasts.

Looks like a rough weekend on the lake but I wouldn't cancel yet unless Mike is suggesting it. If it's not thunder and lightening, I'll be at Haigh on Sunday for a skills session.

I have had similar thoughts about cancellation. I really don't want to have to pay for a hotel room unless we are diving the lake.

But, if there is a problem with weather, I suggest that we play it by ear. If I am in the area already, the worst that will happen is that I have to leave a day early. I am leaving tomorrow night from work, so I will see everybody then.

Everybody remember your seasickness meds of choice.
