What I mean is a reading of the 16 compartments will inflate drastically as you ascend because they are determined at the immediate ambient pressure. The NDL and nitrogen loading graphs (and SurfGF) are projections for determining what your loading will be when you surface at the standard ascent rate. The 16 Buhlmann graph becomes more valuable to me at the surface where the ambient pressure does not change and I can burn off N2 at a steady rate.I'm not sure why you would say that. The model accounts for both on and off gassing. How accurately it reflects what's actually happening in your body is, of course, another question.
I like the Nitrogen Loading bar graph because I am used to it and it is an easy to digest graphic.
