I showed up on a fellow SBer's doorstep and demanded he show me a long hose set-up (thanks Ben :D ). I realized that it was actually a pretty streamlined setup. I always had this image on my head about a 7-foot hose dangling or being loose. Not so. Therefore, I'll be converting to the long hose set-up as soon as I can get my hands on the hoses.
 
Wait till you get the hang of doing S drills... It's kinda nice doig a direct ascent air share with a 7ft hose.. you can drift comfortably and maintain spacing while floating upward. Next time we'll dive the set up and see how you like it
