I am in the burn the mask group. It worked for me on both of my masks and my wife's masks. The one thing with abrasives you have to be careful of is if your mask is polarized. I had one ScubaPro mask that the polarization was just a coating on the inside of the mask and I ended up scratching the crap out of my $95 ScubaPro mask. Here is the video I followed when I did my mask s.

Thank you very much for including the video, it did just as you said. I gave it a go and was surprised with what came off the lens, looking forward to the next time I use it. Appreciate the extra effort in adding the video!:D:D

Thanks! I'll let Dave know you liked it. :D If you like that trick, wait until you try a rubber freedive belt..

Dude, the rubber free dive belt is the BOMB!!! I have yours, and you can thank DumpsterDiver for it!

Agreed on the baby shampoo. I always follow Walter's advice and it's never let me down...

There is a big difference between what will keep your mask from fogging when it is a used mask and what will keep it from fogging when it is new. When you have whatever they have on new ones cleaned off then baby shampoo, spit, mask defog or a little water will do it but when some of them are new nothing will keep them from fogging until you get the coating off.

Isn't that what the whole thread is about?

The thread is about a new mask with a fogging problem and baby shampoo will not fix that. I really like baby shampoo as a defogger but not for cleaning a new mask.

My gf got turned on to a rubber belt first frob,m Mako. After seeing it I ordered one. I now own two.

Keep the little lady happy, nothing is too kinky if between certified divers. She got a sister?

Back to the OT...
see my sig line!

As stated earlier, I burn my mask. But I'm thinking that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would work also. Assuming you don't like playing with fire. Anybody try that?
It's basically just a mild abrasive.
