Nothing is wrong with split fins. However, like tires for your car/truck there are a lot of choices, mis-conceptions, stories and reasons why people end up with the fin that makes them happy. Dive'em and have fun.

I used to use splits and they work really well for me when in the quarries or going along with classes on checkout dives but when I go with more experienced groups the splits just dont give me enough propulsion to keep up with groups which in most cases means they have to slow down or I have to finish the dive alone.
Ditto!If you have to work hard to keep up with "more experienced groups", they're not all that experienced. The really experienced divers generally move the slowest.
Find yourself a good buddy and go as slow as you want.
