My first car was my Ensign Mobile..purchased with my career starter loan from the Naval academy. 1988 chevel z-24...good little car just not so good for scuba once I became an instructor.

In 1995 i bought my first car, a 1981 sky blue ford fiesta, very good on mileage, could easily knock out 40+mpg with it, just a little rusty and i think i might have hurt the suspension jumping over hump back bridges with it, so sold it for an 89 ford escort about 6 months later.

Ha, Ha
My first car was "Baby Fiat - 126". Anyone ever saw this? Tried to drive it?

My first "Car" was a 72' Chevy 3/4 PU 350cu/350 auto AM radio and bald tires.

Fred, I bet you still wish you had the 50's Woody. That would make a cool clasic.

It was a 1973 Vega hatchback. (Got my license in 1977.) Learned to drive and learned about lovin' in that little car...

Good story - my mother won the car in a oil company promotion (Union 76, in case anyone cares) in '73. My dad drove it till I got my license. I drove it through high school and during my first year of college, then I got hit by a center-lane crossing driver when I was 19, totalling the car and almost totalling me.

Good luck with driving and diving. Here's wishing you safe return trips from both.

First car to drive was actually a van, 74 Ford Econoline, used by a local cable company as a repair van.

My first car that I bought was a 78 Buick Century. I drove the wheels off it and then gave it to my mom and she drove it for another 3 years.

I seem to be asking this to a lot of people lately.. as I get closer and closer to getting my license... and hopefully my own car after that... My question to you is.. what was your first car? :) Thanks in advance for your answers!:)

Kayla:)

1973 Camaro 350LT. Midnight metallic blue exterior with black interior. Standard transmission. WIDE tires, etc. That bad-larry cornered like a dream.

It actually spread engine and transmission parts over about 1/4 mile of road when the fuel pump diaphram got a pinhole that filled the crankcase with gas fumes, and then threw a rod through a piston head. It was a long 30 mile walk home with the license plate. It cost me both the car and the girl friend I had with me at the time. (She didn't object to the walk, but her Dad did object to the fact we got home as the sun rose.) The detonation did leave some unique outward dents in the hood and fender areas though.
