The whole thing screamed lack of basic training and experience to me, the crew seem like abit of a cowboy op. and all. The scary thing is they probably gave him his deep cert card once they where back at the club. I don't think most divers seen in that video should have been awarded their OW never mind going on an 'advanced' dive.

My vote goes 'scary'!

I feel very sad. I couldn't finish watching the video. There were so many things wrong from the outset that the outcome wasn't surprising.

What is really sad is that it isn't that hard to teach people better skills. It isn't that hard to learn them. You have to have a model -- you have to know what is possible, and that it is possible for you. And then you have to do a little work (or in my case, a LOT of work), but that work pays off with every dive you do.

When people aren't taught, and don't see good skills around them, then you get a situation where one bad event -- in this case, a diver with severe vertigo -- cascades into a near-disaster. It isn't funny at all; it IS scary, but mostly, it's just very, very sad.

I'm left speechless. That is among the worst underwater performance by a group of divers I've ever seen. I can't help thinking it was staged with actors! Scary!

For those that couldn't finish watching that train wreck, they went on to DM training.

Hope burns etertnal.

Scary on so many levels!
