I have been using an app called Sea Status, seems to be accurate and gives wave height and tidal info.

I agree, night diving at FTW is a better option. My son has been bugging me to go there for a night dive but we will wait until the water temps go up a bit more.

AfterDark, I am in the same boat, sidelined with an injury. Blew my knee out fighting a fire, had surgery 2 weeks ago. Sucks royally. Was supposed to do some ice dives with my dive rescue team this past winter and had planned to go to Florida for an instructors class but the injury stopped that from happening.
Alas, Sea Status is only for iOS

Get better quickly!!

Is there somewhere online you can monitor the water temps?
NOAA has water temps. for all coastal U.S. Here near Halifax it was 43F as well on my dive yesterday--after weeks of continually at 38 in March/April.

I was there on the 8th and 15th.

8th:
Surface temp 42
Temp at 60 feet was 36.
58 minute dive
VIS was 6 feet exactly. (Had a 6 foot leash to my partner and at times couldn't see him)
Dive time 915am
Low tide

15th:
Surface temp: 45
Temp at 72ft was 39
Temp at 15ft was 41
2 dives, 48 min and 36 min
Vis was give or take 15.
Dive time 11am to 2pm
Slack high to low

Both dives started and ended in right cove with the boat ramp.

Trying to get the visual - you were tied to your partner for 58 minutes?
