Doesn't need to be gaudy.
Where are the Liberaces Of Liveaboards on this thread? Disco Don Divers? The Sun King of Scuba?
Ok fine, but hope the OP's wife enjoys the OW class, whatever she's wearing.

From a business standpoint. Black makes sense. You can have any color as long as it's black.

Personally I don't care as long as my smb stands out. While fishing I don't want contrasting colors that could be mistaken as a fish. I.e. bright gloves.

That said, if someone finds me a legit Batman wetsuit with the pointy bat ear hood and a cape, send me the link and I'll buy it right now.

I didn't know how much I needed a star trek wet suit until now. It'll be an awful match to the orange fins I'm buying though lol.
That star trek wetsuit really is the bees knees. Too bad it has the pricetag to match.

Batman wetsuit with the pointy bat ear hood and a cape

that one hurts.... especially in this thread..... a friend and a dear friend to the OP.....

j yaeger, R.I.P. buddy.....:(

Several years ago, a new tech student asked me about equipment color, and he wanted to know why everything was black. I said I didn't know, and he could do whatever he wanted. He immediately ordered all his new regulator hoses in bright blue. I had no idea that was even possible. I did notice, though, that whenever he geared up, he immediately drew "What the heck????" looks from everyone. I like to avoid those looks myself.

Suppose you are the typical starving-to-death local dive shop. You want to sell wetsuits. You need 5? sizes times two sexes. XS, S, M, L, XL or something like that. So you need to stock ten wetsuits just to cover one color.

Now add red, blue, yellow, lime green, pink...oops, you need 5x the inventory, and some of it doesn't sell so often, so maybe it has to be priced even higher to accommodate that. And sooner or later, you run out of money because those cheap divers won't pay what you need to cover inventory now.

Same thing for the makers. Stocking five or six colors of neoprene and running shifts on the line for different colors, all adds to costs. Forget everything else they tell you. Colors were available, and ARE available, but you'll have to go to custom orders, custom suits, or bigger shops to get them.

Same thing with BC's, which used to come in bright colors FOR SAFETY.

Tell the wifey to try Halston and Chanel first.(G)
