Size difference between short and regular Halcyon BP.

If you’re only 5’2” check out the short backplate made by Halcyon and one other company (Oxycheq?). I’m 5’5” and it makes a huge difference for me.
They’re suggesting a more affordable option. Plus with OMS, I believe their harness has their name all over the danged thing. Huge walking ad!

Yes. OMS has its name all over and that's what I like!
Halcyon's short backplate and OMS BC/W wouldn't work together, right..?
My friend uses OMS BC and I just like how it looks! Being short is so sad.

the halcyon short plate requires a sta, so you can pair it with a oms wing if you really wanted. in general, any combination will work but some require a sta to do so. whereas wings with oversize slots or standardized slot spacing for the wing/plate allow for threading the cam bands directly through

It’s BP/W not BC/W.

The bolt holes on BP are standardized at 11” apart. The only difference is that the Halcyon short BP does not have slots for cambands so you would have to use an STA for single tank. Check on the Oxycheq short plate. Most wings can be used with most plates

Ah, gotcha, the friend (BF?) has the same so you want to have the matchy-matchy thing going. :D

Do you use your backplate with Halcyon harness and wing?

I use my Halcyon BP with the Halcyon harness (I much prefer their webbing) and a Halcyon wing for single tank. For doubles, I use a Dive Rite wing.

So much to consider! not the matchy-matchy thing but I just liked how it looked :)
What kind of wing do you use? I thought of Halcyon but it's on the pricey side so that's why I was looking at OMS.

I won the Halcyon wing at an event so it was free. I can really recommend Dive Rite. Excellent customer service and they are very durable. My doubles wing is more than 10 years old (given to me) and it’s still going strong.

Ok! I'll look into it. Thank you :)

Halcyon makes really good wings, but yes they are the highest priced ones as well.

You will get lots of opinions here, but general consensus might be that Vintage Double Hose - VDH is probably the best single-tank wing for quality/value right now.
