What it means is 50 is no different from any other number pulled out of the air. I feel no different than I did when I started to dive in my 20s. I have more experience now and I'm a better diver than I've ever been. I was just goofing with all you old farts, since I'm still in my 40s (for another 3 weeks) and can't play your game.

What the heck, three weeks out is close enough -

Bill, did the 288 Lake site re-open last week?

I talked to Cudabait who went by there to see how it looked. He said that the new operator was doing a good job of cleaning up the place and had some plans on making it more diver friendly. Still haven't been there myself this year, I'm out of diving for the rest of the month due to a broken arm. Looking forward to 288, it's the closest place to my house to get wet.

Most of us that have posted have a lot of diving experience. If our age group wants additional certifications, do you find it hard to locate an instructor in our age group? I think we have different needs as we get older for training.

70+ dives, about 20 in Cozumel, 4 in the Pacific (LaJolla & Laguna Beach), the rest in Texas Lakes. I really love being in the water. Off to Roatan on the 10th to see if I cant get as close to 100 as possible.

I will be 61 in November. I will be celebrating 5 years since my open heart surgery in December 2001 to replace the ascending aeorta and the aeortic valve. I still am a fairly active diver as I do about 2 or 3 dive trips per year. I spent a week on Utila in April, followed immediately by a week on Roatan to save on airfare. I am looking for some new dive buddies as the younger ones I had now have more responsibilities, new kids, marriage, ill family member, etc., which preclude them diving now.

I AM DIVING THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER ORISKANY OUT OF PENSACOLA,FL ON NEXT SATURDAY 6/10/2006!!! I am really pumped about that.

I live just west of Houston in a subdivision near Richmond, TX.

I have BOW, AOW and EAN certs and probably will not get more with the possible exception of Rescue.

The dive shop I use the most is Sea Sports Scuba on Westheimer, since they closed the one on the SW fwy (boo hiss).

Speaking of age, I once dived with a woman on Roatan at FIBR who was 82 and still going strong. She only made one dive per day, but did not miss any days during the week while we were there. I hope that I can keep going like that.
