Not sure if you were asking me or Marie, but I'll respond anyhow.

Here's my first stage with the same reg as Marie (XTX50). The swivel is nice to have it sticking out when deployed and tucked away when stowed:

It's on an AL80 so not a pony but a stage, but rigging can be the same.

So regulator first stage is facing the diver and the swivel turret facing left when attached to the diver on his left side? Does the turret facing left more practical than if it were facing right?

Left might make it easier to route around the neck.

How long do your HP hoses usually last when bent like that?

I don't know. The whole setup is relatively new to me. Some people choose to loop the SPG behind the 1st stage which would create a little bit looser bend. This way is a little easier for me to see. It's a MiFlex hose so maybe I can get away with bending it a little more than a rubber one.
