Getting Certified in Thailand - Where to Go?

Hi everyone in Scubaboard.com! A diver-to-be here from Singapore!
I'm going to do my Open Water and Advanced Open Water in Thailand around mid-April. Where should I go? Towards Andaman Sea side or Ko Tao side? Is the waters getting choppy around Andaman already?
Which dive center would you guys recommend in both areas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

mid april is best to go to Andman....not really very choppy and once you're certified you can go to Hin Daeng which is very good for whale sharks and Mantas in April....best is Koh Lanta....very chilled out indeed
