People who buy a ticket are not necassarily given a special status or rank...

Of course they are. They are accorded the status of "ticketed passenger."

once you sign a contract it is not a privilege but both parties have an obligation to fulfill the contract...

A party to a contract only has an obligation to fulfill their duties under the contract as long as the OTHER party agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of that contract. If you don't agree to the terms of purchasing a plane ticket ("Conditions of Carriage") then the airline does not have to honor it. The two (privilege and contract) are not mutually exclusive, and in fact have nothing to do with each other.

Hmmm. I didn't have to look far:

Sorry, I guess you were the one that said every single muslim is dancing in the street, RJP I thought you meant that I said that and I couldn't find it other than YOUR post.

Let me help you find your own post here...

...where you indicate that...

"...it's been muslims as a whole community who have indicated by dancing in the street when it comes to killing Americans, who want you dead..."

Dear TSA,

What did you do with my rebreather cylinders?

So you mean I didn't actually see whole communities on the news of muslims dancing in the streets? Wow, now you think you know what I saw and others saw? You are really reaching as well as miss quoting what I've said. If you are going to join the discussion please don't put words in peoples mouths, the only place I see that "every muslim was dancing" were your words.

Yes you saw "lots of people" dancing in the street. You did not however see "the muslim community as a whole" dancing in the street, nor likely did you see "whole communities" dancing in the street.

How is quoting you verbatim "putting words in your mouth"?

...the only place I see that "every muslim was dancing" were your words.

You'll forgive me for not engaging in further semantic discussion with someone who doesn't understand the differences between "lots of people" and "the muslim community as a whole."

No one said Amercian Muslims were dancing in the streets. But they sure as hell were in the mideast. There was one Palestinian woman who kept getting shown over and over doing her warhoop or whatever it is and clapping while dancing. It is the fault of the liberal politically correct bozos tha tthose images are not shown on the news daily. We get to see skier crash over and over for years. So why not remind people of what is in store for us if we let our guard down when it comes to certain groups of people. We stopped being angry over something that we should still be seething over. Every time I go thru an airport I know the delays, missed connections, ridiculous searches of little old ladies while tent wearing women who wear a masks like a bank robber are not even looked at, and the humiliating pat down of my wheel chair bound wife who is obviously not concealing anything are because of one thing. Muslim terrorists of middle eastern descent. I have not forgotten. I will never forget. I'm just glad that we now realize if one of them tries something again on a plane we know enough that they are not going to do it for money. They wanna go see someone who will give them young women to rape and humiliate in the afterlife. So we therefore know we have nothing to lose by doing whatever we can to beat them to death, have the pilot descend to below 10'00 feet and chuck em out of the plane.

You'll forgive me QUOTE]

Yes, I did see whole communities of muslims dancing in the street.
and yes I'll forgive you.

There sure is a lot of negative critcism for an agency that has done a good job of being a part of the system that has prevented another attack on the United States using Airplanes. Has there been any American planes hijacked since 2001.

I used to be involved in security and there are many strategies that are done on purpose that you may or may not realize are even happening.

My suggestion to make things better would be to hire consultants from Las Vegas that use cameras to find cheaters in crowded casinos to use there expertise to find potential threats in airports. I have no idea if they already do this.

I have to believe that the new door structures leading to the cockpit, introduced post 2001, do as much to reduce the possibility of hijacking as do the checking of passengers. Now, OTOH, if someone wants to destroy an aircraft in flight then the extra screening reduces the probability of that happening.

IMO, the tone of the questions to the OP don't have as much to do about what the TSA's role in the security system is, as much as why it is so inconsistent in application of the policies, regulations, and procedures.

An agency such as the TSA has to have the public's trust and it seems that the level of trust is not too high.

In Canada we have CATSA. It is pretty much the same situation here. I think that the people doing the security screening before simply were given new uniforms. The inconsistency in the interpretation of policy is startling. Different airports, same day, different interpretation about what you can take in your carry on.
