(Assuming DM class is done by then - I still can't believe a certain member of the class ducked out on us! -- no names will be mentioned, SK.)

Though I'm not in YOUR class Ken I'm also doing my dive masters class. But they call mine a Dive Control specialist. So we can tease and say na na na to the one who dropped out.

Well I guess I have that to look forward to...

I need a new dive mobile also.. I want to buy but cant afford the hit I will take on my current one. So I guess I will keep it.

Well, we'll se how I do on the swim test! I got my wife to teach me how to swim the last couple weeks, now I'm just working on getting the technique down better. I'm still having trouble with the turning the head and breathing thing.

Assuming I get the swimming down, yes, I'm interested in going on to instructor.

Just got a call from the dealer, the manufacturer has confirmed the first week of September for production, then about 5- weeks typically for shipping and customs. So, should definitely have it by M&G.

Man I should have certified through your agency. I had to swim 20 laps in the pool and tread water for 15mins before I could even start my open water class. Now I have to do it again for my dive con class.

OK OK enough with Ken and I hijacking this thread as you were.

I'll be there. This time I'll try and get the husband in the water too. He'll be at a different job by then so hopefully he will be able to get the full weekend off - otherwise he doesn't come!

Paula - the water should be warm enough still that I'll be more than comfortable in a 7mm (I was fine last month with it and no hood) so no need to worry about a drysuit for me. I still can't tell you how much I appreciated that at Spring M&G!

As for food ... I'll bring stuff for S'Mores. Can't camp without 'em!

You might want to confere with Mitten Diver on that. As for what to bring for those. We have a special SIR for smores and only he really is certified in that.

Oh come on! New Years Day the water is warm enough for a 7 mm! The water will only be JUST beginning to cool off in October. Definitely too early to get the dry suit out of summertime storage.

I've been thinking (NO comments on that please!) that we should move this Fall's M&G to White Star Quarry. Change can be a good thing and White Star would be a good change.

BTW - I'm recommending we move the Fall M&G rather than the Spring M&G 'cause I always welcome a hot shower after a cold dive and the water is so much colder in April.

Benefits:
o Cost!!!!!
o Non-diving family / friends would be free unless they go swimming.
o Dogs are allowed and have free entry.
o You pay by the campsite not by the person. And two tents can be on one site & split
the cost of one site.
o We'll have a more centralized place to hang out during the dive day. A sun/wind tent or
two rather than divers gearing up and hanging out at their own camp sites.
o New stuff to see.
o Electric hook-ups available for camping.
o No one will have to pay for parking.

The only thing I can think of that we’d have to do differently is change the major pot luck to be the evening meal. We can do the brats, burgers, salads and desserts at lunch. & then the major pot luck back at the campground in the evening. I’ve done this with other groups and it works well

So what does everyone think? Give White Star a go for a change of pace? The M&G is over two months away so we could easily switch.

The only problem with that is the 2or3 people that actually come to dive have to get in the car and drive over to the dive site. At Gilboa you gear up and go dive whenever.

2. People hang out by themslelves by choice every time we say we will be assemblying in the back and what happens only me and john and Katie assemble in the back. They chose to be at on their own.

3. we have this discussion every year for every meetngreet Gilboa always wins. I would like to have it in Key Largo but I know I wont get to many attendees.

4. I always carry my own electricity.

I'm up for White Star. Been wanting to see something new and the cost is a BIG plus in my book.
