Actually I've been thinking of taking a couple days off and making a extended weekend trip down to the springs!

I've been thinking about the six hour drive to the springs as well. But it's still a 5mm and hood.
Perhaps i'm just a wuss !

Poor guy, got his new toy and won't dive it in the cold KY waters. Good excuse for a road trip though.

I think I'm out for a road trip or Pennyroyal. Like Jim, it is too far for a one day dive.

I'd be OK with the cold water if the topside temps would rise just a little. Maybe if the sun would come out or something......

This weekend is supposed to be in the single digits so thats out. If I wasn't afraid the chlorine would bleach out my new wing, I'd go get in the pool!


I gotta figure somethin out, I need to get in the water........... :hyper:

I know what you mean about the surface temps. If this year is anything like last we should warm back up within the next couple of weeks. Which works for me since the regs will be in for service and the next couple weekends are full.

I think I can survive since I just got Oxyhacker's Companion book today. Pretty sad though that it is the 4th addition and there is a blearing mistake on the cover. The compleat & unauthorized...come on.

I'm going to want to get in several dives in my new doubles in that timeframe but Pennyroyal is just too far for me. I'd love to get down there sometime, but it's around 5 hours from me. With Gilboa being only 3:15, it's tough to head south instead. That's why I haven't been to Mermet or Pennyroyal .... yet! I'll certainly make it there eventually.

I understand where you're comin' from. That's why I haven't been to Gilboa (4hrs) or Haigh (3 1/2hrs) yet. With gas hovering at $3.... that's an awful expensive trip.

Hell, if I didn't drive at least 3 hours I would have three places to dive. One of those I hate spending $20 a day so I dive it as little as possible.

That's what I like about Pennyroyal (>1 1/2hr), Cerulean (>1 1/2hr), Mermet (2 1/2hrs) & Falling Rock (2 1/2hr). I have yet to check out Haigh, Gilboa & Martha's.
