Neg. Buoyance in Hagarthian rig

Am I doing something wrong? Keep sinking. Here's me in my rig...

I think you just need to work on breath control, your rig looks fine for a cave man for cave diving--right? N

steel or aluminum backplate?
steel or aluminum tank?

How much weight did you wear before switching to the backplate?

How much weight are you wearing with the backplate?

I have found that I am also negative with my backplate when I'm in a 3mm suit. I have a 6lbs SS backplate and a STA and find that I'm heavier than normal in that setup. I basically have to add a little more air then normal for that setup to remain neutral.

I'm going to be in a dry suit this weekend in my backplate so we'll find out how well that works. I typically wear about 2 - 4 pounds more in my drysuit, so it should turn out about right.

Thanks for the input but you should really see my rig!

Well.....I think the shield should have more wood in it...:D

and I'm pretty sure the legging are going to cause you to be a little foot heavy...:D

make sure you trim the facial hair as that may cause you to lose your seal...:D

Oh...and HELMETS are NOT DIR...:D

and definitely tell Helga you are going on a diet...:D

Then post a legitimate picture of it.

I don't have one, K. It's my HAGARthian rig. That's humor. Ark ark

The horns on the helmet are a definite entanglement hazard.

Is the shield attached properly with cave line and a bolt snap?

I think a few missed the humor in your post..

Is that a steel or Aluminum boss on the shield?

Steel is probably too heavy for that 3mm fur exposure suit. Because water significantly slows blows from axes and swords, you really don't give up much protection by switching to an Aluminum boss.
