I agree with RJP... Make your stop and wave good bye. No need in putting 2 divers in danger. so for for that dive master being a role model. I would havesked for a refund and a tip because of the risk you were in as a result of this.

Ok, I was beating around the bush a bit there. You're not too new for a pony, but still may be more than you want to invest and use.

No, you had plenty of air, just a panicked rescue.

Edit: The DM needs a pony perhaps.
 
I believe that by handing off your pony to the out of air DM you would have defused the situation, that is why I like to side sling mine as it is very easy to hand off.
