small suunto gekko issue

I just picked up my new gekko from my LDS today. The shop owner programmed the date and time into the computer before I picked it up at the shop. When I got there, he showed me how to manually turn it on, find the log book, etc. Brought it home, played with it a bit, but now, it will not turn off. Even if I press the power button, it just resets itself. Does anyone know how to get the gekko to turn off?

There is no off button.
It will turn off automatically after a period of time.
Don't worry about battery consumption on the gekko, they last for ages (3 years and 150 dives on mine and battery still shows full).

From the gekko manual:

The timekeeping display is the default display of the instrument (Fig. 2.1.). If a
button is not pressed within 5 minutes, the dive computer beeps and returns to
the timekeeping display automatically (except in Diving mode). The timekeeping
display shuts off after two hours, but pressing the PLAN or TIME button
activates it.
