Starting as a new diver, what would you recommend buying for a computer? I cant afford a lot right now, but want something basic. Any ideas?
I have a small wrist and I like user friendly things... :) I don't want something complicated...heck, I even have challenges with my reg. timer watch at times. HAHAHA

Much appreciated - Google comes up with lots of people selling them and many "Be the first to review this item" sections!

....... and Dive Computer Training for feature comparisons and overview videos
Thank you for mentioning us.

Additionally, we also offer full tutorials and simulators (eDiving, iDive Computer and divePAL) for most of the dive computer models available in the market.

No point - once you're deep enough they're all in monochrome anyway. :rofl3:

Not if they're backlit, unless you have very long arms.

Interesting point about the models these computers use not being designed for decompression diving. I have been thinking about buying a computer (up to this point I have used tables or buddies computers) and thinking about getting into deco diving. I have been leaning towards the Mares Puck Pro as I can get one for e190 and it allows a single gas switch (which is as 'technical' as I see myself going in the next 5 years).

I gather from reading some of the web pages that both Suunto and Mares use RGBM which seems more conservative than the other models. Any help on which computer models are best suited for deco dives?

I have run across the following terminology and it would be great if someone could give me a simple explanation.
- RGBM
- ZH-16
- OSTC
- GF
- VPM
- Ratio Deco

Thanks a bunch
Phil
