Yes! I have never yet reached the point where I could not hold it long enough to get back on the boat and use the head. I will not sully my suit if I can avoid it. :D

My SO got around that problem by ordering a wetsuit from Xcel and asking them to install a 'fly zipper'. (For blokes only, sadly.) Imagine a plain old wetsuit where a small zipper is strategically located over your pink bits for easy access. Quite a few of our friends have them, and positively swear by them. The tricky bit is discreetly 'using' it, especially when diving in groups, but you're on your own there!

As a new diver, mine is when a more experienced diver says "You shouldn't do that. There is a better way...." and then just walks away and acts like nothing was ever said. Now I wonder if what I am doing could be considered dangerous. What was the problem with what I did? Then I ask for a clarification and said diver acts like I am a moron. If you didn't want to be helpful, keep your mouth shot. I love learning from experienced divers. I refuse to put up with being patronized.

Better not to forget zipping it up in the presence of ladies and/or Moray eels. :shocked2:

Divers who damage the environment. Think rototillers and human lawn darts

Divers who will not wait their turn for the photo op. Ohh look, a pretty fishy

Divers who feel they deserve something because of their rating. ie: I'm an ____, I get this spot on the boat. BS, don't you know who I am?

Divers who don't pay their equal portions on a road trip. Hey, I'm short, can I make it up to you next week? Hey, have you seen ___ lately?

Shut and patronized, sorry I could not resist .

This kind of "expert" also burns me up. They are specialists in one liners and can't even explain what they think.

Cheers

People that get on the boat and just throw their gear all over the place. It's like a freakin' gear-grenade exploded, leaving their crap all over the place. Especially when there's a group of people doing this all at once...putting their rigs together means taking an extra 20min to sort through all the random gear found all over the boat first.

On some charters the DM is required to physically check your tank before you get in the water. I don't like it, but come on - chose your battles and let them do their job. If you are the other customer with me making your way to the water, don't freaking argue with the DM about it for 5min while everyone waits for you to stfu and go!

One more...if you have no experience diving doubles, or even if you do, you should not touch my manifold & valves unless I ask you to. "Hey bud, your valves were turned all the way on so i rolled them back half a turn for you" is not doing me a favor and is not at all appreciated!

Oh, and kids, breath and breathe are not the same thing. Ugh..that's opening a whole different can of worms, isn't it?

I am bothered by boat DMs who (amazingly often) try to rush my buddy and I into the water while we are trying to get our buddy checks done. We try to stay situationally aware, so if we are not the only divers on the boat we make sure to be getting in last so as not to hold anyone up. We keep our gear ship-shape and tidy. And we have never been late in getting back to the boat, so it's not like we're taking five minutes longer to get in and then extending our dive five minutes past the allotted hour. No, we look at our watches when they claim "pool's open," and we are back when they ask us to be.

So I can never figure out what the problem is? If everyone else wants to jump in without a buddy check... okay, fine by me; we want to do one, okay? We would rather go in feeling prepared and have a 48 minute dive instead of a 58 minute one.

Granted, we will probably get faster at it, but for now, what's the harm?

I can't stand other divers who chase the neat critters around and ruin the experience for everyone.

One more, trying to put my mask on with a 6m hood AND get my hair out of my mask and into the hood. I feel like a blundering idiot. I have trouble getting the hood from under the skirt of the mask along with my bangs from under the skirt. Then to add in the fact that I have to keep adjusting the strap because I wore it last time with something different now the strap is either too small or too big. I am sure there is an easier way, I just have not found it yet. :dork2: Almost forgot, this has to be done while in the water with my 5m gloves on. Talk at task overload.

My pet peeve is that people think they haven't done one of the things listed in this thread. I am guilty of 1 or 2 and now that it's been brought to my attention that it pisses people off so much.. I'm going to make a conscious effort to change some of those habits.

I like when people share, even the exaggerators, I love to hear stories no matter how " tall" they seem to be, The fake ones are easy to pick off.
