I bet a lot of the people who posted earlier on this thread moved on in the decade after their last post. If you want to talk about this topic, I suggest you start a new thread so that new readers with new interests are more likely to become involved.

Lol. I didn't even see the date. Sorry

I do my diving on my own--shore, buddy, solo, charter, etc. Like others, we do other stuff together. For example, the casinos here in Biloxi. That's her thing. She wins at Texas Holdem no limit while I lose tons of nickels at the poker machines. At home in N.S. I dive and we watch a lot of TV together (live in the boonies).

My wife is a 'landlubber' that loves horses [big, smelly, nasty critters that bite :O !!!!....I hear they're good to eat though :) !!!!]...She rides, I dive and promise not to eat her horse ROFL....... No problems :p.......

My wife is a non diver, heck she can’t even swim. But when I dive she comes with me. She is my surface support team. Weather seated by the shore or on the deck of a boat, when I come up she’s there, ready with a towel an ice cold water bottle and kiss on the cheek.

Dive Safe ………… Arduous

Wow I guess this is every diver's dream :) Does your wife have a sis ?

My wife tried diving and decided it was not for her. Fortunately, I have two sons and a grandson who dive. Our dive trips are boys outings.

My wife is very supportive of my addiction to diving. I am a fortunate man.

Is it sad that one of the things I care about on my first dates... is if the guy is willing to learn to dive? :lookaround:

In my case is a beggining issue ...
She just had a Discover Dive, and the experience was not so good, she told me she will try it again, so I'll see what happens. I'm leaving for honeymoon to BoraBora (She's got to like that place right??).

If I'm not succesfull I'll need to start looking for some of the solutions posted in the VERY useful thread! :)

Cheers!

This thread is such a good example of how different we all are. As the years go bye I realize that I don't even care to have non-diving friends, there is no way I would marry a non diver. Maybe the fact that diving is the only activity for me, lately I exercise rain or shine but I don't consider it a pleasure, I may be surprised of my progress but in my head it translates into better diving.

My husband was already a passionate diving before he met me, I can't imagine him with a non-diver either. I read about taking separate vacations, hmmm that would not work for us. Maybe because we travel for work already, or just the fact that pretty much everything about the way we've set out our life is diving related. It would be impossible to justify the amount or resources (time and money) I use for diving.

My concern now is about potential daughters in law, with 2 adult sons I worry they may end up with partners that may not care to let my grandkids be water children, that will be a difficult issue, only time will tell.

A good partner supports his/her Significant Other's Passion - not necessarily monetarily, but moral support.

I'd really love it if I could go off on a dive training vacation, and my spouse would accompany me but go golfing since he doesn't want to train.
