Certainly more than 60 lbs and almost none of it purchased. Much of it was found in the Casino Point Dive Park. If there is a shop or personal ID on it, I do my best to get it returned to the rightful owner. If not, I claim salvage rights. I have two belts plus lots of spare weights.

Ah, the classic quest of alchemy....

Ah yes, turning lead into gold, :D if it could only happen.

I recently bought 49 pounds of weight from my dove shop. They were used soft weights, and I think I got a great deal. They don't show the wear you would expect and are very nice. I bought them for $2 a pound with a couple of 1 pounders thrown in for free.

I only use 20 while diving dry and my dad (dive buddy) uses 18 when diving wet. We have 11 extra that we bring on the boat just incase someone forgets/needs more weight.

I just bought my first lead stash today!!!!!! I have to rent my tanks (last piece of equipment that I don't own), so renting would be easy, but .... I like having my own stuff and plan to do a lot of local diving. I'm in Boston, so a dry suit diver - I got 28# of soft weights which should cover me.

I was really surprised at how much lead I have to carry to sink beyond 45' in cold salt water while wearing so much neoprene I feel like a giant puffer fish in mid fright. The wetsuits for cold ocean water at any appreciable depth suck-suck-suck! You'd think if we can bring an entire ship back from space at a mind blowing velocity we might be able to do something awesome with a simple flexible thermal skin for the human body ...

I own over 80 lbs. But then again that's for my 2 sons and me so it's plenty because our local diving is fresh water.

How much do I own? Over 200 probably close to 300 pounds I guess. I keep running into deals. I got #32 just a few weeks ago

There are 2 of us diving coldwater/wet & dry but most of it is out of service. I do keep a swap bag in the van for adjustments & buddies but most of it stays home.

I sold off all of the ratty home cast I acquired or I'd have another 60 or so!

Pete
