It's my name, and my picture. I guess I show a distinct lack of imagination!

Hmmm my title is one of many i use lol. I am an avid gamer, so this is one of my game names. I love wolves anything and everything to do with them. And I have a blue wolf tatto, and a wolf cub in black. My av is my newest companion. The Simi. She was yawning when the cub (my daughter) took the shot. But I thought it was a nice pose. She is my company in the lonely water free hours. Her fave spot is sitting in front of the monitor while I am trying to battle my enemies in the outlands of WOW. Little cat, covers alot of screen.

My username, Theunis, is my real name.

My avatar is a photo I have posted on the now closed Creation vs Evolution thread. It's about a baby rhino (the one sitting on it's bum with the small elephant tusks) evolving into an elephant. I think I was the only one who thought it was funny when I've posted it on the Creation vs Evolution thread!! In any case I decided to use this photo for my avatar because I was getting tired of my original one about me jumping from a damwall. That photo is still part of my profile.

My name and me at the top of Mt. Tremblant, it is significant to me because at the time we had returned from a dive trip two days before where we were in 90+ degree weather, diving in 84 degree seas. The picture is at the top of the summit. It was -40 before the wind chill. Just a little reminder to myself of the moment.

since Onespeed took the AB logo for his, I settled on a glass of AB instead.

I hope Onespeed gets a chance to post on this thread - I have always been curious about both his username and avatar. I sent him a PM but his inbox is full right now...

Night Vision refers to my other hobby, Astronomy. I hand grind, polish and figure telescope mirrors and when they’re finished build a telescope around them. My current project is a 42 pound chunk of Pyrex that, after four years of work, is getting closer to catch some ancient photons. It will be a 7 foot long telescope when finished.

The best time to spend a night out under the stars around here is in the winter, so it’s inner space in the summer and outer space in the winter (paraphrase stolen from Astro Dad)

After you spend about half an hour under a really dark sky without any white or bright lights around, you have Night Vision.

Here is one of my smaller creations:

Wow! That is awesome. Smaller??? I'd like to see the big one

Amazing, Night Vision!

With the amount of light pollution we have on the east coast, we rarely get to see a lot of stars any more. Every time I go on a dive trip to some less populated region, I always carve out time to go sit in the dark somewhere & just look at the heavens. One time, on a trip out to the Flower Gardens, i talked the boat captain into shutting off almost all the lights. Glorious!

Well I play research scientist in computer graphics and vision in my other life so my avatar image is that of the skin pattern around the eye of a puffer fish. Here are some examples more with their real life counter parts (think about the old question - how does a leopard get its spots):

Reaction Diffusion Projects

As for my screen name. In addition, to diving I spend a lot of time in the big mountains alpine climbing. I have done it often enough that on occasion I have been scared silly by the situation. Of course I like to say you are never really scared unless you are going to puke.

When my husband and I started our horse breeding operation, we had three cats; Tizzel, Squeeter and Mini. Thus the initials.

My avatar was a gift from Adobo. My early diving career was a headlong, happy tumble into DIR diving, to the point where people here started calling me the Borg Queen.

My sig line changes as I read things that strike me.

As you may know, tortuga is Spanish for turtle - obviously a diving reference, and my adoptive mother is Chilean, hence the Spanish

I was born in 1968

Current avatar is a photo of me diving Puerto Galera in the Philippines

Signature is a play on the phrase 'drive it like you stole it' - not an invite to my steal gear!
