Greetings DueceFire and probably two things come to mind rather quickly!

First having to surface after a stellar dive just is sort of depressing, when the tech exists for unlimited BT I will be a happy camper!

Second would be relief valve failures: kinks, blow offs, or you forget it is not in use!
These rarely occur any more but have at times been very inconvenient.

The rest are just part of the process and or dive.
It does amaze me how easy it is for a group of divers to bond and start friendships.
I have witnessed people who would not normally be friends in day to day life strike up great friendships with diver from all over the US and beyond!

Safe diving to all, enjoy your dive season this summer!

And related to that, Elitists. It really bugs me when divers claim that their gear/camera/preferred style of diving/air consumption/weighting requirements/etc. are the gold standard against which all else must be measured.
Example: I recently met a young female wreck penetration diver who stated matter of factly that recreational diving was for wusses and that the only fish she was interested in seeing was the one on her plate. Talk about a conversation killer!

Well, the fish part is understandable. Most of the folks I know who are really into wrecks aren't much interested in looking at fish ... for the most part they seem to feel that the fish just spoil their view of the wreck.

Ah well, whatever floats your boat ... or in this case, I guess "whatever sinks your boat" would be more appropos.

To answer the OP's question ... my biggest pet peeve is people who just HAVE to criticize how someone else is diving. Folks need to keep in mind that it's first and foremost a recreational activity ... and those tend to attract people who will always have different ideas about how to do it and why they're doing it. It's a big ocean out there, folks ... let's share it in a spirit of fun and camaraderie ... because for most of us, whatever our preferences, fun and camaraderie are a part of it ...

the weight of the gear, when out of the water, continues to p$ss me off...

There's an easy fix for that ... assuming that you dive recreationally.

Borrow a set of doubles. Wear them diving for about 50 dives. Then switch back to your normal recreational setup.

It'll feel practically weightless ... :D

This is a pretty amazing question. I mean, if something about diving can piss someone off, how do they handle everyday life?

Yin and yang, Hank! Like putting salt on an apple to make it taste sweeter. Underwater, it's blissful--the topside stuff just reminds us how amazing it really is.

And, on a related note, ScubaBoard posters who refer to fish as "pretty fishies," which is somehow intended to denigrate the whole idea of diving to see the amazing life on a tropical reef when there are perfectly good lumps of barely discernible wreckage on otherwise featureless expanses of near-freezing water.

Hey! I LIKE "pretty fishies"!! Especially on wrecks! :scorned:

I dislike unsafe divers, especially the ones that pooh-pooh the idea when they are told their actions are unsafe.

... that's like asking if something about your spouse can piss you off, how do you handle marriage ...
