Except they can stand by it all they want, but countries with widespread mask usage show significantly lower infection rates than western countries. Taiwan has 13 cases per 1 million people. Other Asian countries/cities have similar lower levels.
FWIW: Taiwan is now producing 13million masks a day, raising personal weekly quotas, and easing export restrictions for close family members.

We are not on lockdown here, life mostly going on as normal while social distancing, still 99.9% of cases are traced to existing known cases or imported cases who are on home quarantine already. Government doing a top job, but i'm waiting to see signs of community spread cases, not happening yet. You generally can't go to any public places without seeing everyone wearing a face mask, peer pressure. Long dive weekend coming up..

I run an IT consulting company. We have been busier than ever and are even looking to hire right now. In some ways, I wish I had time to catch up on other stuff but, for now, I'm going to "make hay while the sun shines".

My own business is not IT per se but we have just helped a client to setup their lnplay real time live streaming to an AWS server as their staff had to bring their office desktop computers home to work on. I actually had several hours of work to do as for now very little on for live inplay supply of sports atm. So I can't dive and I a bit bored.

Diving while others are sweeping tombs.... sounds like a plan. Traffic will be bad. Taiwan is also exporting masks and allowing us now to mail masks overseas to family members so I am sending some to my son and his wife in Australia. Life pretty much goes on as normal, my wife's guest house if fully booked for the next week and people will take advantage of taking several days vacation in Taiwan. Many places though have dropped their hotel rates.

I have one of these I use for spraying toxic paint. You can either attach particle filters or you can attach charcoal vapor filters plus particle filters on top of those. It’s 100% sealed with eye shield and considered N-100 meaning 100% particulate and vapor trapping. They run $150 plus the cost of the disposable filters.

Sorry to hear you can't dive. I was fortunate to get enough tanks filled to take me through winter if I space out my dives enough-- like every 2 weeks. I believe our shop is still open (not sure how they worked that). Hope it is open when my winter air runs out in May.

I am still working 40 hours a week. Got my CISA paperwork a week or so ago authorizing unlimited travel and access. Covid cases are just starting to pop up near me.

Am learning about, and working on, my portable compressor. Hope to be pumping my own air (after purity test) by the end of the month. Still diving every week, but with cases popping up nearby that may be subject to change.

Get addicted instead: exertion leads to micro-tearing in the muscle fibers, body releases endorphins to dull the pain, repeat until you get hooked. Just like heroin only legal and good for you.

I have never experienced an addiction to exercise, when I was doing short-distance triathlons, marathon training, or lifting weights. That would be nice, actually. I'm really lazy and tend to exercise a lot for a few months, then nothing. I'm trying to get motivated to start the 30 Day Shred again (workout DVD with cardio and weights). I'm afraid if I don't do something I won't be able to handle my doubles when it's time to dive again. :(

I’ve finally had time to do some artwork and create some sea paintings.

Beautiful painting! WOW! :)

If you're wearing a mask when you're out and about to protect yourself, do you follow proper protocol for doffing the mask? I'll bet that very few do. Do you re-use the mask? If you don't have good routines for taking off the mask, there's a pretty big risk that a contaminated mask will contaminate your hands. And if the mask is contaminated (which you can't know), re-using it is a pretty bad idea.

I'm pretty certain that you can find YT videos showing the protocol healthcare workers follow for doffing protective gear. It's pretty elaborate. And they're also supposed to treat all used gear as contaminated, so it's single-use only with rigorous procedures for disposal.
