In case I didn't tell you, I'm no fan of feather boa kelp either. You can be out with nothing on but a wet suit and that damn stuff will find something to grab, had more than one amusing moment on the south (really east if you have a compass) side of Fort Ross cove. I shortcut through kelp all the time, but avoid the feather boa like the plague, its just too time consuming, and potentially quite dangerous.

And I thank you for coming up with the Freedom Plate, my old Hammerhead Plate is PO'ed because it rarely gets used now.
