I believe DSS makes a 17lb tropical wing.

I don't understand why weighting is that much of an issue. Figure it out for yourself so in the future you know, you need enough weight to sink everything that's positive during your dive. You can figure all these things out by jumping in a pool, the ocean, a lake, etc.

For example:

Exposure suit buoyancy +3
Empty AL80 +4
Sea water (for me based on 1lb for 40lb of your weight) +5

That means I need 12lbs of weight to be able to control my stops. I can usually accomplish this without any extra lead.

-6 SS BP
-3 Cannister light
-2 reg
-1 hardware (D-rings, backup lights, etc)
___________
-12 and perfectly balanced without any additional weight necessary.
 
You may not need any, I had on a 3 mil shorty and 6lb SS plate and was overweighted...

That's probably because you had that anchor attached to your crotch strap. :p
