I have an ATX100, I like a lot. The bubble interferance in a totally vertical position is minimal. You can barely see the bubbles on the outer corners of your mask, but it doesn't obscure your vision to the point where it bothers me. I think the reviewers tend to make a bigger deal of the bubble...

Anyone know what actually caused him to drown? I also agree about surfacing to clear his mask... hope this was a bit of bad reporting.

In my opinion, being able to re-strap your tank at depth should be a skill required to pass an open water course along with some basic navigation skills but some reason or another non of the cert. agencies ever call me up and ask what I think.

There is an excellent point. Having two incompetant divers on the same buddy team poses a risk to both parties. Try and tell someone that they shouldn't be diving though and all hell breaks loose. I doubt there is any real way to solve this problem ... other than to sit and watch darwin smile....
