Well, after spending hours in the pool last Saturday, and then hours in the local reservoir (Chatfield res. ponds) on Sunday, then taking my test on Tuesday night, I am now officially certified as a Rescue diver! With missing 2 out of 50 questions (a 96%), and both of the questions I missed simply coming from mis-reading the question, I really feel good about this class. Lots of fun!

I even had "The Chat" with my LDS about embarking on the DM program. I'm going to let Rescue sit for a short while, at least til my Fiji vacation coming up in October, then see if DM still excites me as it does now. It looks like the shop wants/needs someone with my goals and it sounded like a great program to me. I posted a thread about DM expectations, got LOTS of good info and used it to my advantage on Tuesday night - I knew a lot of the right questions to ask... thanks to all for the help!

Congrats! I also recently finished my rescue class (I got the same test score you did :D). Not in any hurry for DM though.

I just had my first class session yesterday. The instructor could not believe how prepared I was. He said some people come to class without having even read the book. I don't get it. I'm not taking rescue just to have another card. I want to actually LEARN something!! I want to score 100 like I did on my first aid/cpr tests.

I have another class next Thursday then at the end of the month, it's off to the cold quarry for open water training. I hope I survive. :rofl3:

Congrats ...it's been a while but I remember that was a VERY long weekend.

Congrats.. Rescue was a great class to take. I loved it.. You just became a better dive buddy to anyone you dive with from this point on. I just finshed DM'ing for a Rescue Class this weekend. I got to see 4 more Rescue Divers enter the diving world. Great weekend. Congrats again..

Congrats. Rescue was one of the best dive experiences I ever had. As to having missed 2 questions, one of those may not have even been your fault. When I took rescue, one of the questions I was marked as having "missed" was not actually wrong. I don't recall the details, but the the question was worded differently as a question then it was as a statement in the book and that difference required a different answer. The instructor ultimately agreed that I was right, but marked it wrong because the answer key said it was wrong. So, you may have only missed 1 ... and in either case, you did great.
