I just picked up 2 cases of Beck's Octoberfest from Sam's Club. My favorite all around drinking beer. Too bad it only comes once a year. Other then that it's Guinness and regular Beck's.

Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, CA was voted number one micro brewery in US with their Pliney the Younger and Pliney the Elder beers. They are also in the top 7 in the world.
I never tried their beers or been down to the brewery but it's only about 15 minutes away from my house. I know, shame on me.

I'm just saying.

Why does the rest of the world bag on American mainstream beer?

I'll be the first to stick up for my roots, but face it, mainstream beer here is dimensionless. Nothing interesting past the initial taste. I work for a Brit company so I've tried many of theirs. We could discuss this over a Manchester bitter and nice jucy medium-rare Kansas steak.:eyebrow:

I am, right now, drinking a cool (but not chilled) Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. It is delicious.

Heileman's Old Style or Pabst; ice cold.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys PBR.

That's about as mainstream as I get; usually, I find that mainstream beer has a closer affinity to a midstream sample than anything else.
