So far this is the most up to date flyer proof I have seen, but Randy Jordan and Scuba Works are coordinating the distribution of the material. And it may have already been changed.

The idea is to keep it simple and clear.

Originally I heard it was going to require we print them on our own printers, but I think they are ahead of that now.

My friend Sheri Daye and Lt Bingham of the FWC have been supplying most of the original ideas, and then a bunch of us have been adding our input. I added ideas to my website.

Any time you have a volunteer based operation it's not going to be all figured out at first.

I am up for some time in the AM Phil Foster Park. I can do 8-9 AM before a 10 AM dive.

I heard back from Randy and will assist with coordinating a group for Phil Foster Park - Blue Heron Bridge. I will be at the EAST bridge (South East corner of park by lifeguard station.)
I am picking up flyers next Wednesday from the shop.

I will be at the park at 7:20-30AM with dive flag in hand and flyers in the other. I volunteer to stand near the boat ramp from 7:30-9:30 AM. Please feel free to come and join me.

Contact me if you have any questions. wilanz@gmail.com or 561-628-1560

The issue with boater drivers licensing anywhere is going to be a problem with both the infrastructure to get a license, and even more of an issue with enforcement.

FL has a lot of out of state boaters, and no state requires a license that I am aware of for recreational use. However the trailer, and boat must be registered, and licensed.

I think it's not a bad idea, but hardly a quick fix for sure as there are a number of issues that would need addressing.

I wish you all luck with this, and wish I could be there to volunteer. Boater awareness of divers DEFINITELY needs more public attention. Unfortunately the voices of the divers even in FL is a drop in the ocean compared to the number of boats, and recreational boaters.

Alabama requires a motor vessel license to operate a boat or jetski on public waters. To receive this license you either must pass a written test or present a certificate of completion of a US Coast Gaurd approved Boater Safety Course. The Motor Vessel license is then added onto the Alabama State Drivers License.

I will be at the Scuba Works shop on Sunday, Jan. 25th and diving with Emerald Charters that morning. If the flyers are available I can pick them up and bring them back with me for the people that live south. I live in Deerfield / work in Pompano.
