    Anatomically designed fins?

I think a number of fin brands vary blade size along with foot pocket. I know for sure that the Atomic splits and Jets do.

Lightest possible backplate for use with DSS / Oxycheq wing?

Very awesome. Maybe I've found something appropriate for my economic stimulus check after all. Looking forward to it.

Where are the DIVE SPORTS and COMPETITIONS?

Assuming for a moment that more young people is a good thing, attracting young folks to scuba will always be difficult, simply because it is so expensive. I can attest to not being able to drop over $1000 to dive in the Keys for a weekend (and frankly even a trip down to Rawlings from here...

Lightest possible backplate for use with DSS / Oxycheq wing?

Patrick, you've really piqued my interest with those photos. Apologies if you've said so and I missed it, but do you have a guess as to when you may go to market with the ultra lite? Thanks in advance.

    Lightweight alternative to Jet Fins?

I picked up a pair of these and like them quite a bit. They are quite small and weigh about 3 lb for the pair, yet kick like real fins.

    Equipment So Far

For shallow recreational dives within NDL (the kind I do) I simply plan to abort the dive if my computer fails. I sometimes wear a watch, but it's mostly unnecessary. I have thought about trying to pick up a Uwatec bottom timer, but for the the price combined with the fact that you have to...

Going crazy regarding which reg to consider

Your last sentence has it right for most divers. Buy a name brand that you like and can get serviced in whichever manner you prefer (locally or via mail), and don't worry much about which reg is "the best".

Help with Configuring Secondary Air Source

I see you're in Baltimore. Do you mind providing more detail on the LDS you visited? I've been looking for a good one since I moved here, and the two near me are pretty mediocre.

    Shore diving

If the price is similar for a two tank boat dive and the two tank shore dive, I'd personally hop on the boat. The shore dive is fine, but $50 (or $70 for two-tank) is pretty expensive for what it is. I think we used that op when we dove there, but we didn't pay for a guide... It's not...

    Shore diving

I've done Coki Beach at St. Thomas. We had been diving out of one of the resorts, but took a day trip to Coki just to see what's there. It's not a bad dive, and it is pretty easy, but I was somewhat underwhelmed. I suppose I sort of felt that way about St. Thomas as a whole, though... As...

Like it matters, but... I'd be in to buy one of these as well. I guess if these don't hit the market Oxycheq's travel plate will have to do......

    Diving in Chesapeake Bay

Other than going after oysters, there's nothing. And with the vis/temps what they are, I'd sooner just buy oysters.
