    Open heel or full fin?

I started diving with a heal strap and never dreamed of diving with a full foot till my buddy talked me into trying out the Aeris Velocity full foots back in March of 2004 when I was in Coz. They had me sold so fast it was unbelivable. These fins were faster, lighter and I was much more agile...

Inexpensive dive-friendly watch for a new diver?

I have the same watch but with the metal band. I have dove with it for about 4 or 5 years now and it's been a good watch and taken some major abuse and I mean major, above and below the water. 97 bucks on amazon.com, you can't go wrong. I really like these watches because the crystal is just...

    Zeagle Escape - Tank Stability

Don’t worry about the plastic D rings. The Delrin plastic is pretty much indestructible and won't brittle out with exposure to sun, hot weather, like some other plastics. They use Delrin to make body lifts for trucks and have been using it for years. The BC stitching will rip before the...

    Zeagle Scout vs Escape

I have been diving with an escape since about 2004. It's the perfect BC for me. I don't need pockets as pockets in the past were too small for me and I would never put anything in a BC pocket that I didn't want to lose unless it was a zipper pocket, besides if I need it I can just use a clip...

    Underwater logs for furniture use

I think the TV show you saw had the guys pulling logs out of New Zealand that were actually thousands of years old, they were on the fast pace to being stone.

    San Carlos Mexico

Are you serrious? I have been on all his boats (dove using his operation 3-4 times per year for 5 years) and I don't consider any of them "fast" Not compared to Desert Divers/Ocean Sports, (Now El Mar since their also using the Ocean Spirit) and Surface Time boats.

    San Carlos Mexico

I used to dive with a shop out of Scottsdale (although I live in Tucson) and they used Gary’s boats. I love the crews, great bunch of guys and they really know the area well. I also loved the delicious fish tacos they cooked up when we were down below and trolling on the way out to the...

    tusa rs350

I have a 350 and have about 30 dives on it over the past 18 months. LOVE it. Many people will bang on TUSA regs here but it's somewhat of an elitist attitude many divers have towards TUSA and some of the other companies who release a lot of entry level equipment. Older TUSA models IMO...

    Full Foot Fin Feedback

I have been diving with a pair of Aeris Velocity full foot and I LOVE them. I their they weigh a total of 3lbs together. Extreamly fast for a light weight fin and they are very easy on the legs. They got a Scuba Labs Best Buy and a Testers Choice rating and their such a smoking deal, a...

    Tusa Rs350

I had the RS-240 before it was stolen when my house was burglarized. I got the RS-350 when I replaced my equipment. I was concerned about not having an adjustable 2nd stage (the 240 has it the 250 does not) as I tend to dive fairly deep for your typical recreational diver. I didn't have any...

    Casa Del Mar?

I dove with Del Mar Aq's last march. They were fine with me but my local dive group hired 1 boat exclusively for the entire week. We had the same DM's and we set the standards real quick on what we expected. The first day of diving the DM was somewhat lax and didn't seem to care too much...

    Seeking advice for WP-DC900

I have a canon made case for my canon S30 and I would recommend pulling the O-ring out of the case and storing it in a plastic baggy with a light coat of grease inside of the case during storage. The O-ring will change shape if it's in the little slot in the case for too long. Also to be safe...

    piece of junk

Wow, I have seen 2 posts in a row where you bang on TUSA and then bang on vent fins with nothing to backup your claims. Pure Opinion on your part. Fact is the vent style fins are in testing to show they get some of the best overall ratings and "gas mileage" available compared to other styles...

    What is YOUR opinion...

LOL, this IMO is equipment elitism. I have dove on TUSA regs for years. Yea TUSA of old is CRAP but their really releasing good regs now days. My last TUSA reg was a RS-240 and it was a great reg. Didn't have one complaint on it and I have dove all kinds of regs from budget to $1200 units...

    Thresher Shark Encounter

Great explanation. Thanks! I will be careful. I plan on trying this out in waters with less aggressive and dangerous sharks. I will be in Cozumel in 3 weeks. You never know whats around but You typically see nurse, black tips and hammerheads in Cozumel, possible a lemon shark if your lucks. ;)
