Does ANYONE in the USA dive a Ursuit drysuit?

Well, I finally picked up my Ursuit at Divers Cove, in Essex Connecticut this last Friday, and planned a dive for this Saturday. I ordered a xxl with size 10 boots. At the last minute I swapped out the si-tech inflator hose with a straight connector for one with a ring around it. As I stated...

    Bonne Terre Mine questions!!

Does anyone know what the managements reasoning would be for not being allowing you to carry your own light? I have heard that there is underwater lighting down there. Is that true also?

    Solo diving

I am of the opinion that, dive anyway you feel comfortable. If you want to solo dive, be my quest. If you want to dive with a partner, go ahead. I am not promoting one style of diving over another. What I am asking is, at the end of the day, would the presence of a partner have changed the...

    Solo diving

RonzoTheGREAT, First and foremost I am sorry for your loss, as I believe I knew your friend. I have asked the question in other forums if some of the divers we have lost would not still be here if they had not had a partner. Or at least been in eyesight of their partner. I apologize for the...

How do you rinse your scuba gear

What I do when at home is, I have a 55 gallon plastic barrel cut in half. I assemble tank and reg, turn on the air and dunk it in. This not only cleans it, but gives me a way to look for any air leaks. I leave the hose running, and everything goes in the barrel. As I have to handle everything...

    Don A Dry Suit

Though the Viking has Latex seals, it is not a shell but made of vulcanized rubber. I have always found mine to be warm, to the point that I usually wear just a sweat suit underneath. And I mean in water temp to below 40 degrees.

    Don A Dry Suit

One thing is for certain, if you are working a suit, it is like a tool. If it does not do what you want it to, it is going to make your time in the water miserable, which could eventually effect your bottom line. Did you ever try a Viking?

    Don A Dry Suit

Good point. What I am talking about is when that little piece of undergarment gets itself so wedged in there nice and tight because you just had to pull that zipper a little harder. Now,the zipper will neither open or close. Also, in my case, my tender isn't just closing that zipper, he's...

Curious about drysuits. How dry are they?

As I have stated in other threads, I have been with Viking for thirty years, and in all that time I have never gotten wet, or damp. I usually wear a ffm, with the Viking rings and five finger gloves. If things get a little hectic, I'll throw on a pair of carhartt overalls. They're cheaper than a...

    Don A Dry Suit

Marcosdutra. Let me ask you a simple question. Look at that zipper in the front of your pants. If you had no way to zip it up, would you want to rig something, and then while you are attempting to zip it up, THE WRONG THING GETS CAUGHT IN THERE? All it takes is a little piece of under garment...

Wes Skiles Noted photographer's death will remain a mystery, medical examiner says

DSIX, I agree wholeheartedly. Let me take it one step farther, by quoting George Benson in THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL. People are always searching for a hero, people need someone to look up to. I never found anyone to fulfill my needs, So I decided long ago, I LEARNED TO DEPEND ON ME. And...

Wes Skiles Noted photographer's death will remain a mystery, medical examiner says

As always, I am just curious about something. As I am not familiar with certain types or styles of diving, let me apologize in advance for any thing I ask that might offend some one. Earlier on in the forum is a case of a rebreather diver at Dutch Springs, who I believe was saved by the quick...

    DAN Report on Diving Fatalities

I am just curious, and this might be the wrong place to ask, but are there any training agencies who teach students to buddy breath? And to clarify that, I do not mean simply grabbing your partners safe second, I mean sharing your partners primary reg. Legions

Does ANYONE in the USA dive a Ursuit drysuit?

That is why the Viking has to be rolled up a certain way in storage, so that the zipper takes it's natural curve. LOL, maybe if I were in the business to sell zippers, and or repairs, it would be different. When you start paying as much as these suits demand, you want to get the service out of...

Does ANYONE in the USA dive a Ursuit drysuit?

Lets just say that I do not like to draw any undo attention to myself while diving. I liked the color, and I really liked the reflective tape with the arrows, as I stated earlier,in murky or dark conditions I felt those items were ideal. I would have rather there had been no reference written on...

Does ANYONE in the USA dive a Ursuit drysuit?

I also like the self-donning capabilities of the suit, though the life of the zipper remains to be seen. I had always been taught that the ideal local for a zipper was across the shoulders. And in that placement it would never turn out against itself. In 30 years, with three suits, I never...
