I agree, light envy is a serious problem. I'll never forget the first time I saw a can light (HID). I made my light look like a candle next to the Sun. At that moment I knew I had to have one of my own. I agree with BabyDuck, "you don't *need* a can light for wrecks, but you'll *want* one."

I have a apex xtx 50 and I use it in Jersey waters without a glitch. Coldest so far has been 38* F with a wet suit, and yes it was cold. Im saving up for that dry suit......

This is a common requirement on pretty much all NJ wreck dives. I dont think you need to take a class in it, but it is a good idea to do a dive or two with a person who has some experience laying down a line. Navigating on a scattered wreck is almost impossible unless you are VERY familiar...

Thats what I thought, so I let the guy VIP it for a cool $20 + $10 for a fill. In the end it's worth the piece of mind. It just would have been nice to know about this before I decided to purchase my tank. Thanks everyone.

The other day I ran into a little bit of a quandary at my local LDS. I recently bought a 30 cu ft tank from Scuba Toys. It came with the valve off, and a VIP sticker. I took the tank to my workshop, and tightened the valve on the tank to the manufactures specifications (40~50lbs of torque)...
