Newbie to dSLR- Oly 330- Question about old lenses

Short answer: no For the 14-45mm you will need the PPO-01 port. For wide options you will need the 7-14mm with the PPO-E04 port and PER-E02 extension ring. For macro you can use the 50mm with the PPO-03 for 1:2 macro. Olympus also has the 35mm lens for 1:1 macro (not sure about ports). I hope...

    L&M Tetra help!!!!

The Tetra ROC simply mimics the pre-flash and main flash of the C5050. Peter's settings are mainly for manual strobe or Ikelite's TTL stobe settings, which is different from ROC. For Tetra ROC, set the C5050's flash menu (Mode Menu > Camera > Flash) to Int + Ext and the flash mode (top-left...

Wishlist: Active LCD back on a DSLR !!!

More info on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1 Hands-on Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1 Hands-on and Imaging-resource Video The Panasonic DSLR uses the four-thirds mount (Olympus) so it's compatible with all the Olympus lenses plus the ones by Sigma, not to mention the Leica with OIS. I think the design...

Anyone know what this indicator means on an Olympus C-model

The 's' stands for 'Shift'. In 'P' or 'Program' mode you have put your camera in 'Program Shift' mode. What does this mean? In 'Program' mode the camera will automatically choose the shutter speed and aperture for you. This depends on how much light there is, how close you are to the subject...

    evolt 500

If by "sensor" you mean the second "Live view sensor" (the one that provides the "Live" view) in the viewfinder chamber then yes, the mirror that directs the light to the optical viewfinder is partially silvered. If by "sensor" you mean the "main sensor" (the one that captures the image) then...

    evolt 500

There is no difference. The view on your C750's LCD viewfinder is considered a "Live" view. The difference lies in how it is achieved. In a conventional DSLR providing this "Live" view through the LCD has been a challenge because 1. there is a mirror in front of the image sensor that reflects...

    evolt 500

That's not how I understood it. The mirror in front of the image sensor is fully reflective, just like a conventional SLR. The light path is normal, through the focussing screen and then reflected twice through fully reflective mirrors. The difference lies in the 4th and last mirror that directs...

    C5050 Memory question

CF cards are predominantly Type I (3.3mm thick), Microdrives will only fit in a Type II slot (5mm). The C5050 can take both.

    condensation in PT020 housing

I know preservesmart will ship overseas, that's where I got mine from. To revive silica gel pop it in an oven at no more than 80°C (best to rely on an accurate oven thermometer rather than the oven's thermostat) for about half-hour. But you must store it in an air tight bag/container if you are...

    condensation in PT020 housing

It's actually both humidity in the air inside the housing and the temperature difference between the inside of the housing and outside that causes the condensation. Take at least one factor away and condensation won't occur. In housings that are constructed mainly of polycabonate the...

    Finally housed my 8080

This is true for the C5050 / C5060 but Olympus put in a nice feature to over come this in the C8080. In Manual mode you can program the dial and up and down arrows to change the shutter speed and left and right arrows to change the aperture value. See page 150 and 151 of the PDF reference manual.

    Tray for Ike housing

Is this what you are looking for? : Ikelite dual handle and tray (part #9523.32) The "handle fittings" that Wolverine is talking about is not a tray. They are adapters that fit on the Ikelite quick release handles and end in a 1" ball. You can then attach ULCS ball and clamp arms to this...

how to change diffuser for oly pt-020

You can get the C5060's flash to fire in SM mode by setting it to 'Slave' flash in the menu, but you will need to manually adjust the brightness if you intend to use it to light up your subject ie it will not fire in TTL mode. Keep in mind that the problem you are facing (shadow of lens barrel...
