I suppose it was Manfrotto, the best photographic tripods ever built...
No, not Manfrontto. Started with a C, I think., But I will digress. The first tripod I ever bought was Manfrotto. Really solid (probably could use it as a club) and works as well as it did when I first bought it in 1994.

However, when it comes to carbon fiber and backcountry hiking, Gitzo is king.

Do you think we bottomed ?

I bought a large sum of A$ at 56 from my US$ cash holdings and felt sick about it thinking maybe it would tank. I kept some in a multi-currency account and moved a lot to my account in Australia to trade on shares on the ASX It's now at 63.4 and climbing.

I also bought into some Australian bank shares and Qantas shares ( except commonwealth bank I am not allowed to trade them as my son is a lawyer at CBA ) and they have had very solid growth. So I am exposed but at least with bank shares I also get a dividend long term. As a non resident of Australia I am not liable for any capitol gains tax on Australian shares. I trade on my online account in Australia.

I also trade US Stocks in HK where I am also not liable for capital gains tax as a non resident. Tech stocks are climbing although at a slower pace. My United airlines stocks climbed over 30% in the last few days. I think Australian stocks are about to go on an even stronger surge as they tanked so poorly and were oversold like the A$. I understand these are very difficult times for many so am not gloating but the best time to enter the markets is after a steep collapse. After the GFC markets surged only to tank again a few months later. So at what point do to trade out of my existing positions? Cash holdings will not give me these types of returns and sitting on large amounts of cash sounds nice but doing nothing with it in these times would be also gaining nothing as interest rates are so low.

You would know more about these things than I do.

Got my new to me bike today! It was a spare so the gal just gave it to me. I got a good deal. It’s in great shape. It’s a Raleigh - UK company. Gal said it was $300 new in 2008. Current model is $520! Nice ride and cushy seat. I’m used to cheapo bikes.
Raleighs are good. At least the more decent ones.

Welcome to the dark side. When you've tried something decent, you really don't want to go back to basic cheapo models. My ride has a nice, stiff Al frame, crisp gears/gear shifters and hand-built wheels with light rims. I thoroughly hate riding a cheapo bike and would rather walk.

I don’t walk any significant distance. Hurts my knees. That’s why I put out feelers for a free bike.

Why not fix your knees?
Uh, how?

Knees aren't easily "fixed". Knees and elbows are among the most complicated and vulnerable joints we have, and they're generally not easily "fixed". When I was doing martial arts, my biggest fear was screwing up a knee or an elbow. I have mates who had to give up a very promising career in sports due to knee injuries.

If your knee is screwed, there's more than a fair chance it'll continue being screwed for the rest of your life.

From what I've seen, the percentage of people who have had their knees fixed, and are pain free and mobile is less than half.
Spend your money on an electric wheelchair, since the odds of needing it a year after the OP are pretty good.
If your surgeon is really world class, and you physiotherapist has been treating the US Olympic Team for years, have the OP done, otherwise take 3 steps back, go directly to jail without passing go and rethink.

Well I fixed mine with replacement, out of the water for 33 days probably 100% in another 30 days and now 300 to 500% better
